Going to the dentist should be a routine experience in every child’s life. We encourage very young children to attend with their parents and siblings so they can see this, even if they are not ready for their own check-up. We would advise a first visit by the age of 1 but are always happy to see a child before this if you have any concerns. We try to make your child’s dental visits relaxed and fun, and take it at a pace suitable for them. Prevention is essential from a young age, and Anju will advise you on an appropriate oral health routine including diet advice.
As a mum to two children, Anju takes a very realistic view about children, their diet and brushing! She is very approachable and has a gentle manner.
As children grow and become more independent, many will see Gill or Aleks, our dental hygienists, to learn about the correct ways to look after their teeth and gums. Learning the correct habits as a child can set the foundations for a lifetime of having a healthy mouth.
To promote a good dental regime, we now offer under 13s free dental check-ups when a parent is a regular attender at Zebon Copse Dental**. This includes fluoride varnish application where necessary, and an orthodontic assessment.
If your child does need any treatment, a full written estimate will be provided. Children’s plans are also available.
** A parent must have a dental check-up at least once every 12 months
